Easy and fun Fall DIY Projects
Oh Fall, how I love thee. The weather is getting cooler, pumpkin cookies are acceptable to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner…and the kids are back in school. What more can you ask for?
Well maybe an endless supply of donuts.
Donuts make everything better.
Summer is always crazy busy for us especially with sports. We are never home which means most of my DIY projects get put on hold. So with fall, comes some more downtime and more DIY projects!
My husband just loves it when I have more time to think about spending money on projects (do you hear the sarcasm?)
But some projects are easy and affordable…so no one can complain…even husbands
Some of these projects are so easy it’s hard to even call them a project…
Kind of like my DIY Marbled Pumpkins. These are so fun and easy to do and make a great craft for kids.
(Psst…this technique works on everything too. I have marbled vases and Easter eggs using this technique)
A quick Pinterest search of dollar store pumpkins will lead you to 1,568 results but I find this one to be so cute and fun. Another great craft to do with the kids.

I had a small obsession with wood signs and I love them more in the fall. Last year I made a sign using wax paper
I went to a friends house a few years ago and we made these signs at a party
But it would be so easy to make something similar on your own. The easiest way is to head to your nearest Walmart, grab some paint and some already made wood planks (like this one)
Grab yourself one of these stencils and then just go to town. The possibilities are endless.
This would be so fun to do with friends and maybe a few glasses (or bottles) of wine.
A couple years ago, I dipped my toes in making my own fall printables. They aren’t the most amazing things you will ever see but did I tell you they are free? Makes them look a little better when they are free, huh?. You can see and download them here.
Lauren at Bless’er House has cute botanical prints for each season and her fall ones are my favorites. You can see and download her printables here.
Front porches are always my favorite to decorate and fall is up there with Christmas when it comes to decorating our porch.
I decorate my front porch for fall every year. Sometimes all you need is a few cornstalks and a fun rug to get your front porch ready for fall.
Or sometimes you just need a few paper bats.
Combining my love of front porches and and my love of wood signs, Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick made the cutest signs for her front porch.
Remember those bats from earlier? Welp here they are again but this time I put them around my (old) fireplace.
It’s fun to see what my old fireplace used to look like. Let me tell you, I don’t miss that green tile…not one bit. (You can see what it looks like now here)
I just love this idea of making a wall hanging from a placemat. You can see the tutorial for it here
This coir rug DIY project from the infamous Chris Loves Julia is so cute and so easy to do.
This fall wreath would look so cute on a front door or any door in your home really. You can see the tutorial for it here
Welp, I know there are millions of other projects you can do for fall. This was just the tip of the iceburg. Pretty soon Pinterest will be exploding with fall craft ideas.
But for now, I just want a donut
A pumpkin donut to be exact…
If you want to save this for later you can pin it here:
