Bloggers’ Best Spring Home Tour and Easy Spring Decorating Ideas
It’s Spring!
It sure doesn’t feel like it in Ohio though. I’m hoping Mother Nature gets her act together soon.
She is having some mood swings lately.
In honor of spring I cleaned my house…just for you. Today is the day for me to share my home on the Bloggers’ Best Spring Tour.
Thank you Kelly from The Tattered Pew for hosting. There are 29 of us on this blog hop so be ready for lots of spring decor to be coming your way.
I’ll have everyone linked at the bottom of this post so you can hop on anytime to see the whole tour.
Hope you enjoyed Pasha’s beautiful home.
I have done quite a few of these blog hops over the years and they are some of my favorites to do.
Long before I started my blog I loved reading blog hops like these. I love peeking inside people’s homes and this is a great way to do it (without it being creepy).
Ok, I really don’t peek inside people’s houses but if I did, it’s just to look at their decor….nothing else.
I’ll be honest too, I jumped on this blog hop kind of last minute.
I really do not go crazy in the spring with decorating.
I do not decorate for Easter either. I don’t own one Easter decoration (besides a few Easter baskets for the kids).
Just call me the world’s worst blogger.
When spring rolls around I am on the “less is more” mentality. It’s easier for me to switch out my flowers and pillows and call it a day.
This year I even switched out a few curtains to lighten things up.
But, like I said, I did clean my house for you guys. If anything, you will see my house in it’s rarest form…clean
Ok, enough rambling….ready to peek inside my (clean) house?

Spring Living Room Decor
It’s all about those pillows and greenery. Everything got switched out for more spring like decor. I even took down my DIY roman shades and replaced them with inexpensive IKEA curtains.
We’ve had our Emmet sectional from World Market for a few years now and it’s holding up pretty well.
I do love that it’s a neutral color which makes changing out my decor pretty easy. I think I even got a new rug since last Spring. Click on any image to shop:
I also find myself adding more rattan and wicker to my decor in the spring. I have had these cherry blossom stems for years and they are my favorite. I found them at a local store but Amazon has some great florals too.
The woven rattan vase is a Studio McGee Target find and I kind of had to buy it.
It was a no brainer.
I usually mess around with my mantel decor 451,564 times a season but lately I have been leaving it alone and just letting it be once I decorate it.
Dining Room Spring Decor
Our dining room used to be a thorn in my side. So I did what I know to do best….I painted it…and added DIY wainscotting….and added new curtains.
I have spent quite some time in this room the past few weeks.
I really do love how it turned out. I needed a change in here and that is what I got.
The furniture and rug had to stay so I worked with what I had but was still able to change the look completely. It really was much needed. It feels like a completely different room now. There’s some more rattan again…and more fake spring flowers.
I got those fake tulips at Walmart (in store) years ago and I still love them. The rattan lamp is one of my most recent favorite purchases. Click on any image to shop:
I painted the dining room Light Blue by Farrow and Ball and as you can tell it looks different from every angle. It’s definitely the most unique paint color I have ever used.
TV Room Spring Decor
Since I already had a paint brush in my hand with the dining room, I just kept on going and painted our TV room the same color as the dining room (Light Blue by Farrow and Ball). We recently put a TV in this room and we use this room all of the time now.
I wish I could say we just come in here to read or have great family conversations…but we don’t.
We come in here to watch TV. But once again, I just switched out the pillows and added in some more spring like greenery and florals. Put a TV in a room and the kids will follow you wherever you go…

Kitchen Spring Decor
Do you guys know that I hardly ever share a picture of my kitchen on my blog or Instagram?
There is nothing wrong with my kitchen. It rarely is ever clean thanks to my children that live here so getting a good picture is next to impossible.
We didn’t build this house and if we did I know I would have made some different decisions in the design of the kitchen.
I cannot complain because it really is a nice kitchen. I have made a few changes to make it feel more like my style but I cannot justify a new kitchen when what we have is just fine.
You can see what it used to look like on my Instagram feed. But for now, here is my kitchen all ready of spring And you guessed it, all I did was add some spring florals and a bowl of lemons to my table.
Easy Peasy
(PS…this kitchen is in the middle of a mini makeover. Don’t look too closely at the backsplash. We got new dolomite counters recently and I still need to get a new backsplash….it never ends)
I recently added this hutch (from IKEA) to our kitchen as well and it’s really fun to decorate….with a rattan lamp and fake cherry blossoms of course.
Entryway Spring Decor
I lightened things up in our entryway too. I took away the winter greenery and added in a (fake) plant.
Home Office Spring Decor
I should spend most of my time in my home office working but I don’t. That would make too much sense.
But when I am in here it’s to fold laundry since that is where my washer and dryer are.
Again, I just switched out some wintery decor for some more spring like decor.
Front Porch Spring Decor
I’m going to be honest, I did not do anything to my front porch yet. So let us pretend it looks like it did last year I’m actually brainstorming some other ideas this year for this front porch but I just haven’t gotten my mind to start thinking about it yet!
We’re also working on the back porch. Hoping to share that soon.
Hope you enjoyed my (not so over the top) spring tour. Sometimes it’s refreshing to just do the bare minimum.
In case you were wondering, my house is no longer clean.
