Bloggers Best Spring Home Tour
Welcome to the Bloggers Best Spring Home Tour! Thank you Mansa and Kelly for hosting again this year.
I hope you enjoyed Lora’s beautiful home
I can’t believe we made it to Spring!
Didn’t I just show you my home decked out for Christmas? It feels like yesterday. But here we are again.
The snow has melted and every once in a while this bright thing comes out…I think it is called the sun.
Spring is my second favorite time of year. I love when the weather changes and when you have real winters, it’s nice to see that sun every once in a while. Even the dog likes it.
I’ll be ready for fall in July though.
I’ve been extra busy these past few months with home improvement projects. I feel like I kind of just threw this house together for Spring.
Which to be honest is my favorite way to decorate. The no stress way and the no overthinking it. I’m an overthinker and once I start overthinking things, I go into design paralysis.
But when you just throw stuff together, it seems so easy.
When I’m decorating for Spring, I focus on de-cluttering and lightening up my decor. I switch out my heavy pillows for lighter ones.
I switch out my faux greenery.
I always have real plants in my house year round but I love my fake cherry blossoms. I have had them for years and they are my favorite
I change out the artwork all around my home. My bookshelves in my office are always a great place for artwork
I did a whole post on where to find affordable artwork for your home. This is one of my favorite ways to decorate for each season. It’s so easy and affordable to do…my favorite way to decorate
I also try to add real flowers to my home
Ok, those flowers are fake but if I had time to find real tulips, I would have shoved them in that vase instead. And for fake flowers, those are good ones. I found them at Walmart years ago if you can believe that. They might still have them in store too.
I lightened up the rest of my decor on my fireplace to make it feel more spring like
And switched out some more pillows in my family room.
My bookshelves got a fresh update as well and a much needed fresh coat of paint too.
It’s just those little things that can make your home feel like Spring without spending a fortune.
And then sometimes you just need to buy a few new things.
Like new counters. Ha! Just kidding.
But one of my most recent home projects was getting new counters in our kitchen and talk about lightening up the space. I had no idea what a difference new counters would make.
Don’t get too attached though, these counters need to be replaced. You can read more about my countertop saga in this post.
I gave our sunroom a quick clean and got a new rug and some new pillows.
Rug//tassel pillow//Color Block Pillow
My kids destroyed the old rug we had out there. Fingers crossed this black rug does a good job hiding mud.
I played it safe on our front porch this year. And by playing it safe, I mean I pulled out my old faithful lemon trees from the basement.
I’m usually one to change my front porch decor weekly but the older I get, the lazier I am. And I just love those little lemon trees. They are obviously fake by the way and I found them at Hobby Lobby years ago. I do think they still have them.
I did switch out my entry rugs though.
I am not sure what wild hair I had growing in me but I was determined to find a hand block tablecloth for my dining room table
And I found one…and it’s a good one. Yes, it came from India but it was worth the wait and it included little napkins. I am not sure if I will ever use the napkins but I am tempted to turn them into pillows.
I kept it simple with my table decor too. One, because I was being lazy and two, because I felt like the tablecloth had enough going on. I was tempted to “set” the table all cutesy cute…but who am I kidding. That would require me to wash some dishes.
Next year, I promise
A few years ago, I cleaned our mudroom and it looked like this.
It no longer looks this clean and organized. Had I not been knee deep in finding a 2nd counter for my kitchen, I was going to give this room a little facelift and you know, possibly clean it again.
I lost that battle.
That will have to wait I suppose.
And that’s a wrap.I hope you enjoyed this week’s tour. If you missed any of it, head over to Kelly’s home to start your tour.

Ha, you had me laughing at this post first visit so will return. July. One of the 12 seasons in Boulder is “Hell’s front Porch” starting in july, really hitting it in August and September. Sorry, black rugs are no friend of dirt everything shows. The napkins to your pretty tablecloth woud be cute as a “slip” under a white one, just peeking out. too much? I love doing tables, but hate cleaning the laundry room.
