Screened In Porch Ideas (Affordable and Beautiful Designs)
Tis the season to brush off those cob webs and clean your outdoor cushions. I don’t know what goes on during the winter months but our back patio is always a nightmare come spring time.
A few years ago, I gave our patio a mini makeover and since then I have added a few new things out here. But since it’s been a few years I thought a fresh post was due and since I love to decorate on a budget indoors, I’m definitely going to decorate my outdoor patio on a budget.

And since I am nice, I will share with you some of my secrets.
OK, I really don’t have any secrets…I just shop at Walmart, Target and Amazon. Those are my secrets.
Let’s go down memory lane first, shall we.
When we first moved into our house, our back patio looked like this. We brought that patio set over from our old house.
Shortly after I gave it a much needed makeover, it looked as such. (And since we don’t give anything away I was forced to incorporate the white patio set we already had.)
And now it currently looks like this
Rug//Coffee Table//Outdoor Sofa (similar)
I have plenty of plans for this room in the future. I would love to tile the floor, or paint the floor, or just do something to the floor. I have been thinking about this for years but I just can’t figure out what I want to do. So for now, it sits looking like a slab of concrete with a pretty rug. You cannot go wrong with a pretty rug.
(If anyone has any grand ideas, let me know)
I’ve thought about painting the ceiling too and even painting the whole room dark. Yes, that is what I said. The thing is, I’ll get a wild hair to do something and sometimes they are crazy ideas. And then I voice those ideas to my husband and the look he gives me usually stops my crazy ideas in their tracks.
Sometimes his look are validated. I do have some crazy ideas.
But anyways, you know what my husband does love…a budget.
So let’s talk about decorating your patio on a budget, shall we?
I told you I have three good friends. Their names are Walmart, Target and Amazon. I visit them all often and they always send me gifts (that I pay for).
Walmart patio decor
We’ll start with my favorite friend…Walmart. I do love Walmart for home decor. I actually did a whole post on home decor at Walmart. But for this post we will strictly focus on outdoor decor.
If I had to do my back patio all over again, here is what he would look like after I visited my friend Wally…
5 piece conversation set//Umbrella//String Lights//Floor Planter//Rug//Coffee Table//End Table//Poofs//Striped Pillow//White Lumbar//Teal Pillows//Black Lantern
I love love love that wicker couch and chair set but I know it goes out of stock like a hot potato so this couch is similar and is currently in stock.
There were a few other things I loved from Walmart when I was designing this fake space but they were sold out so I decided to find an alternative. My advice for you is that when you see something you like at Walmart…grab it before it goes away.
I have some outdoor pillows from Walmart on my rockers on my front porch and they have lasted so many seasons. I think we are on year 4 with them. They are really great quality.
Target Patio Decor
We all know the outdoor section at Target is a dangerous place especially since Studio McGee now has a line there. I can probably do 46 different mood boards with the stuff I love from Target’s outdoor section but I will try to contain myself.
And much like Walmart, I know alot of stuff goes out of stock quickly so once again, this fake space is decorated with (at the moment) in stock only items.

I have the white and blue reversible pillows on my patio and I love them! They are great for the price.
Amazon Patio Decor
My friend that sends me the most gifts is Amazon. So many gifts! Everyday is like Christmas!
Amazon is a black hole as we all know. The same is true for their outdoor decor. I had too much fun with this mood board.

You know there was so much more I could have found but I was going down a deep deep hole so I stopped myself.
I did a post last year on all of the outdoor rugs you might like too. I was a huge fan (and still am) of using outdoor rugs indoors especially if you have kids/pets.
If you need any front porch ideas, I love to give my front porch a makeover often. This is the most recent front porch update. I love my fake lemon trees though. I really cannot part with them so surprisingly my front porch does not change too much anymore. Once I find something I like, I stick with it.
I got my lemon trees at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. They might still have them in stores.
I hope this post helped! Go get yourself some fun outdoor decor!
