How to Make The Easiest DIY Side Table That Can Be Used Indoors and Outdoors (And Can Be Used For Extra Storage)
This is the easiest DIY you will ever do.
I know I tend to say that sometimes but this time I really, really mean it.
For real this time.
You only need two items for this one, that’s how easy it is.
And I cannot believe I sat down and wrote a blog post about it. But sometimes you just feel the need to share these easy DIY projects with the rest of the world.
As with my DIY water fountain I just made, this DIY table was not my invention.
I saw something similar and just put my spin on it.
And by spin, I mean I used different planters.

I’m sure you can tell from the picture above how to make this table but let’s go into more detail…because I am writing a blog post. I need to hit my minimum word count.
Planters
You can technically use any planter here as long as it has the same size opening as your pizza sheet.
This planter from Walmart works great for this project as well and was the planter used in the original post I saw and copied from.
But I wanted something with more height to them so I found these planters from Lowes.

Whatever planter you find can be left as is or you can spray paint to get the look you want. I thought about finding a really cheap planter and then giving it the faux concrete look.
Until I found the planters from Lowes and felt like that was good enough. Especially since I wanted three of these side “tables”
Pizza Sheet
I used this pizza sheet from Walmart.
Your pizza sheet just needs to be the same size as the opening of your planter.
I originally had every intention of spray painting my pizza sheet with outdoor rust proof paint.
Actually I did spray paint one sheet and I just did not like how it looked.
It looked like I spray painted a pizza sheet…which I know is what I did but I just didn’t like it.
And then I figured this pizza sheet can go in the oven and is dishwasher safe so why can’t I just use it outside as is?
I guess I am going to find out.
So far my pizza sheet is holding up great, even through plenty of rain storms.
How to make your own DIY side table
I still cannot believe I am writing a blog post about this and I am sure you know exactly what I did.
Put your pizza sheet right on your planter and voila-you have an instant table.
I did put a few rocks in the bottom of these planters just so they do not blow away in the wind.
I love these “tables” because I use them as extra storage for around the pool. Especially since there is a puppy that likes to steal things while the kids are swimming.
These planters make a great hiding spot from the puppy
These tables would be great in a play room too for toys. Actually, you can just put this table wherever you want.
I just put an outdoor solar lamp on my tables for extra lighting at night and it’s perfect.
Now if for any reason you don’t want to make your own outdoor side table, I’ll link a few for you below.
