My love for pillows is pretty strong and this idea had me at hello. I especially LOVE this idea during Halloween and Christmas when festive placemats are everywhere and easy to find. An added bonus-placemats are normally pretty inexpensive. I (of course) got mine at World Market and they normally have a pretty good selection.
Go out and find yourself a cute placemat, just make sure it has two sides that are sewn together. Take out about 5 inches of stitching…just enough to get your hand through

If you already have a pillow insert you’d like to use you can open the stitching up all of the way and stuff the pillow insert in. For these little projects I like to use polyfill. I normally have a giant bag of it on hand. Start stuffing until you get your placemat nice and full
I’ll be honest, I have made a few of these where I pretty much stopped at this point after my placemat was stuffed BUT if you want to be a perfectionist you’ll need to sew up your opening. And let’s be honest again, I don’t sew unless it’s a life or death emergency. I’m a huge fan of this stuff..
And done!
Say hello to your new pillow…
