IKEA Home Decor (Must Haves)
A few years ago I wrote a blog post about some of the must haves you need at IKEA. I had no idea at the time how much you guys would love that post.
I’ve gone back a few times and updated it. I decided to just write a whole new post all together since things keep changing at IKEA
I still cannot believe they got rid of their beloved Ektorp Sofa.
I also want to point out that IKEA does offer shipping. If you sign up for IKEA family (it’s free) you can get FREE shipping for smaller orders over $50 and larger orders (including furniture) can ship for $19!
I actually just placed an order and did just that.
If you are in a bind, you can also find some IKEA products on Amazon. The price will be different (likely more) but you never know.
Now that I got that out of the way….let’s get to it.
If you just want to shop IKEA and not read my very thoughtful post click here
Furniture at IKEA (that doesn’t look like it came from IKEA)
I had to start with this because the LOMMARP series at IKEA is likely the nicest collection that IKEA has to offer.
You would never know these pieces came from IKEA
It comes in different variations.
I’m considering this hutch for my front room
I love this bookcase too
I have the cabinet in black in my kitchen to house my microwave and it’s absolutely gorgeous.
That’s right…I bought a whole new cabinet just to put my microwave in it.
I am who I am
Billy Bookcases (Oxberg)
We have to talk about the Billy Bookcase because when you hear the word IKEA, you automatically think Billy Bookcase.
But the Billy bookcase has a few new cousins that I am loving. I cannot believe THIS bookcase is under $200 and comes in a few different colors
I mean, come on, look how cool this is.
IKEA Shoe Storage
I have a DIY swarming in my head with these so stay tuned. These shoe storage cabinets are genius!
IKEA Dining Chair (Pottery Barn Dupe)
These chairs stopped me in my tracks. They look just like something at Pottery Barn.
IKEA New Stockholm sofa
This sofa! The brown color is gorgeous and so comfortable!
Let’s take a second to talk about the elephant in the room…the prices at IKEA have gone up. I will fully admit that I am aware of this. BUT I also think they still are a bit more affordable than other stores. Their items are unique so they haven’t lost me.
IKEA Kitchen
You can design your whole kitchen at IKEA. I’ll have to save that for another blog post one day.
For now we will just talk about kitchen decor at IKEA
IKEA Dishes and Serveware
I’m nowhere near being considered a cook but I can appreciate pretty cookware
Loved these dishes
Kitchen Canisters
And these canisters! How stinking cute
I did buy the utensil holder (not pictured) but might use it as a vase instead.
Kitchen Storage(ish)
I love this bread box. It might even look cute stained….just an idea
And this scalloped cake stand was the cutest
IKEA Lighting
I love the lighting at IKEA.
These caught my attention immediately.
I have the pleated floor lamp already and it’s my favorite.
A few new ones have entered the scene and they are so cute too.
Their table lamps are very pretty but, I hate to say this, a tad bit on the expensive side (in my opinion)
I’m loving this giant selection of rattan pendants.
Especially this one.
Anybody else think this pendant shade would make a cute basket though too?
A bit of a more traditional chandelier and I’m loving it.
IKEA Air Purifiers
This was a new find for me at IKEA. I had no idea they had air purifiers
They also had this air purifier table which I think is genus.
Misc Decor From IKEA
This is one of the reasons why I come to IKEA…for their decor. I always find something I love.
I saw these walnut shelves on display and I love them.
Love their candle holders
And their hurricanes. I think I need to get these. They are so pretty!
I LOVED these hurricanes too. Something you would see at Pottery Barn for sure
This little candle holder is so cute as is but would be cute with some rub and buff too!
And we CANNOT forget about the Hultarp rail.
I have these rails everywhere in my house
Under my sink and on my kitchen shelves
And even on my bookcases
How to shop at IKEA
For the IKEA newbies here, let me help you not feel overwhelmed when you first walk into IKEA
The first time I entered our IKEA I was blown away with the size. How the heck can one store be so big??
I had no idea what the heck I was doing. I was with my mom so we decided to head up to the showroom. Once you enter the IKEA maze, you will have a heck of a time finding your way out.
Always follow the arrows…learn from my mistake.
The showroom is for you to get ideas and see some of the furniture up close and personal. I get so much inspiration from the showroom. Their rooms they create are so pretty.
You cannot take anything from the showroom to be purchased…again, learn from my mistake.
My mom and I were taking things out of the showroom to buy them not realizing they said “display only”.
Once you find your way out of maze #1, you can head downstairs to the warehouse or “market hall”. That is where you can find all of the good stuff.
Again, follow the arrows and watch your cart fill up
Now off to IKEA or get online and do some shopping!
