Emerald green and gold living room ideas. Neutral living room ideas with pops of green
I’m back at it with my mood boards. Whenever I have a million things to do and want to procrastinate, I decide to do a mood board. It only make sense. I really do love making mood boards though. It’s fun to see some visions come to life.
A few of you have asked about making mood boards and it is quite easy. And this is coming from a person who hates technology.
I used to use the free version of Canva for a while but most recently I have been using the paid version and it is well worth the $10/month….especially if you want to make your mood boards look somewhat professional. Their background remover is so easy to use.
I also use Adobe Photoshop but that is more complex and I actually took a course on how to use Photoshop for my mood boards. I use Photoshop for my clients but Canva is just as great especially when I am doing this for fun.
This mood came to mind when I was outside with my dog. Yes, I know, a random place to find inspiration. But it strikes at the oddest times.
There is something to be said about neutral decor. When purchasing your big pieces of furniture it always make sense to go neutral. Then you add in color with your decor. And is this case, I added pops of green.
Green is trending right now. I never was a huge green lover until I really started seeing it in homes and then one day I brought home emerald green velvet curtains from IKEA and I was sold!
So I present to you my emerald and gold living room that I thought of outside with the dog…

Let’s do a quick run through of some of my favorites…
The most popular faux olive tree on this side of the Mississippi. I have this olive tree and love it. I have considered purchasing another one just because it is that good.
I did a blog post recently on quick delivery sofas. We all know finding a couch in stock and ready to ship is like finding a unicorn. So here you go, I found you a unicorn. You can see this unicorn here.
I love World Market as much as I love IKEA and Target. The majority of my furniture in my home is from World Market.
Some of our furniture we’ve had for close to 17 years and it still looks brand new. And I am not lying. The table in our entry we purchased for our first home right after we got married. I call him my ol’ faithful.
Anyways, enough about my life. Let’s talk about this coffee table. I am so impressed with this table. I do not personally own it but I have seen it in store and it is so cute. And it has storage…enough said
I love my IKEA curtains in my dining room but I found another favorite on Amazon. I used these curtains in my daughter’s room (in the blush/beige color). They have so many other colors as well. They hang so nicely and look much more expensive than what they are. I have recommended these curtains to so many people already.
I also found these velvet pillows on Amazon and for the price they are great pillow covers to grab when you are seasonally decorating.
A great start when decorating any room is with the rug. I always suggest that to be your starting point. And it was my starting point with this mood board. I saw this rug when it first came out and loved it. It’s a great neutral rug that can go well with so many different color schemes.
