Oh Christmas, how I love you. I’m the kind of person that likes to skip right over Halloween and Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas. I’m not afraid to admit it. Once September hits, I go into full on Christmas mode.
And then, to be honest, once I get to mid December and I am in the thick of trying to be Santa Claus, I am over Christmas. Maybe I am approaching this all wrong.
But regardless, it’s not even Halloween as I am typing this and mentally I am in full Christmas mode.
But…
I live with three little angry elves and one large angry elf. These angry elves like to complain when I start pulling out the Christmas decorations in October
I get clever and will start sneaking in a few Christmas-ish items that they won’t notice and I also start pulling out some Christmas candles. Nothing smells more like Christmas to me other than a candle that smells like a Christmas tree, am I right?
There are a few other ways I find a way to sneak the smell of Christmas into this house and not one angry elf has complained of our house smelling good. The smell of the holidays can last longer than a few weeks.

Simmering Potpurri Recipes (Free Printable Included)
A few years ago I made my first Christmas simmer pot and I was hooked.
I can’t believe how amazing our house smelled. The kids even commented on how amazing the house smelled.
And when the kids notice, you know it works. There are all kinds of combinations you can do and I included 9 recipes in my free printable (linked below).
I used what I had on hand at the time and came up with this concoction
1 Cup of cranberries
A few sticks of Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon of Cloves
1 orange sliced (but I ended up using grapefruit because I did not have any oranges on hand).
Throw everything in a pot and add as much water as you want. Set it on the stove and let it simmer away. I kept adding water as needed to the pot and just kept it on my stove for a few days to use.
I created a fun FREE Christmas Simmer Pot Blends Cheat Sheet just for you. Simply print it out, follow the simple instructions, and enjoy hours of delightful Christmas fragrances that will fill your home with holiday cheer.

If you are familiar with Canva I created editable gift tags you can use.
