I love quick and easy DIY projects especially when they involve pillows! And I will be 100% honest I did this project years ago and I am almost certain I found this idea somewhere on Pinterest. So this fun DIY project was not my clever creation.
I didn’t take pictures back when so I’ll try to do the best I can without pics. First up, find yourself a plain pillow. I choose white, but any color will do. H&M has a great selection AND they are really inexpensive. You can find my pillow here
Next up–find yourself some pretty fabric. I found mine at Hobby Lobby. Make sure your fabric is machine washable and has a large print, something substantial you can cut out
Find a section of your fabric that you like and with fabric scissors cut along the print. Go as close to it as you can but give a little room for fraying.
Now you can either leave it as is or wash your pieces of fabric. This will give you the fraying look.
Once the pieces are dry you can fabric glue/hot glue gun/sew/whatever makes you happy the cut out onto your plain pillow and presto you have a new pillow!
This idea has endless opportunities. You can use this technique on curtains, tablecloths, lamp shades, etc.
